Written between 1495 and 1497, the Codex Forster II explores themes related to hydraulics, mechanics and human proportion. Leonardo studies the behaviour of fluids, the operation of pumps and hydraulic devices, and proposes solutions to improve water transport in cities. The manuscript also shows his attention to the proportions of the human body, a subject he will explore in greater depth in the famous Vitruvian Man.
